IBPS Specialist Officer Selection Process for IBPS Specialist Officer Recruitment
The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts a Common Recruitment Process (CRP) for Specialist Officer posts, comprising:
- Online Preliminary Examination
- The exam consists of 150 questions carrying 125 marks, with a duration of 2 hours.
- Candidates must secure minimum cut-off marks in each section to qualify for the Main Examination.
- Online Main Examination
- For IT Officer, Law Officer, Agriculture Officer, HR/Personnel Officer, and Marketing Officer:

- A Professional Knowledge Test with 60 questions for 60 marks, lasting 45 minutes.
- For Rajbhasha Adhikari:

- A Professional Knowledge Test (Objective & Descriptive) with 47 questions for 60 marks, lasting 60 minutes.
- Only marks obtained in the Main Examination are considered for shortlisting for the Interview and final merit listing.
3. Common Interview

- Shortlisted candidates in the written examination are called for an Interview conducted by the Participating Banks, coordinated by IBPS.
- Total marks for the Interview: 100 (minimum qualifying marks: 40% for General, 35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD).
- The final merit score is calculated with a weightage of 80:20 for the Main Examination and Interview.
4. Provisional Allotment

- Candidates are provisionally allotted to Participating Banks based on merit, preferences, and reservation policies.
- Provisional allotments are final and cannot be modified.
Important Notes:
- Wrong answers in Prelims or Mains result in a penalty of 0.25 marks per incorrect response. Unanswered questions do not incur a penalty.
- Reserved category candidates selected under General category norms will be treated as General category candidates for allotment purposes.
